If I’m managing my blog right, then hopefully my writing – or at least my pictures – is giving you some wanderlust. Maybe you want to brunch in Philly, or it’s inspired you to plan a trip to the Middle East.
When I started Travelaine, I knew I wanted to foster a community of people who appreciate travel and want to get out of their comfort zones. Doing so changed my life, and I’ve become a better person because of it.
That dream is growing. I started a meetup group for people to explore cultures in and around Washington, D.C. So far, we’ve had a couple of DC events at restaurants downtown, where we learned how mezcal is made in Oaxaca, the origins of capoeira, and feasted on some Brazilian tapas.
And you know what’s really cool about it? While each meetup was planned for only an hour, they both lasted over three hours! We just hung out, ate, learned. Got out of our comfort zones together.
I’m planning more of these events, and I hope you’ll join us!
To do so, fill out this form with your name and email. You won’t receive every blog post I post – promise. This is just for info about the D.C. events and meetups:
What’s better than having a group of travelers, explorers, and just plain curious people hanging out together? Well, maybe actually getting on a plane and jetting off somewhere. But, this comes pretty close.
Here’s where we’ve explored so far:
Mexico: Espita Mezcaleria
Brazil: The Grill from Ipanema
Turkey & Greece: Agora DC
I’m excited to travel around the world here in DC with everybody. And if you’re not in D.C. or coming here anytime soon, I’m planning more activities for you, too!
