So many people went to Philadelphia for New Years last weekend. Maybe it was the Mummers Parade, or the affordability compared to New York? Whatever the reason, I hope everyone who went started 2017 with a fabulous brunch. I sure did when we visited for the Philadelphia Flower Show.
We indulged in fresh, unique breakfast foods at Green Eggs Café.
The restaurant was packed for brunch when we were there, and the manager said that the crowd is usually a mix of tourists and locals. It’s a perfect place to people watch and get a feel for the neighborhood – which is Midtown Village, by the way. They also have locations in South Philly and Northern Liberties, as well as in Miami.
The restaurant is also eco-friendly.
Their food is locally sourced, and they make it a point to keep it affordable. They compost leftovers and just about everything in the restaurant is biodegradable. Fresh, affordable food that’s eco-friendly. I can’t wait to show you what we had!
We were impressed by the large portions and ever-flowing coffee. People usually order the creme brûlée french toast, the kitchen sink skillet, or the red velvet pancakes. Just hearing those titles is mouth-watering, isn’t it?
We were obviously in heaven here.
What would you order?
While Green Eggs Cafe hosted us, all opinions, as always, are honest and just mine.
